People with disabilities experience in Nepal many forms of discrimination; Society's attitudes make it difficult to equal life, but also the institutional structures such as legislation and policy guidelines are often discriminatory towards people with dis abilities. In addition to physical barriers, such as challenging routes may prevent people with disabilities from access to legitimate services. For those circumstances the disabled children are less attending the school than others. The project’s goal i s to bring people with disabilities at the center of social development by promoting their human rights. The project aims to empower people with disabilities not only to demand their rights, but also to increase the awareness of the rights of disabled peop le. In addition, the project seeks to influence political decision-makers, in order to the disabled people's rights be noted and the laws to be implemented. The project trains the members of the community and disability activists about human rights, partic ularly about the rights of people with disabilities. In addition, there will be held discussions with representatives of the local district government, as well as eight events at the national level with policy makers in Kathmandu. CIL - Kathmandu began its work among disabled people's rights in 2005 and was officially registered in the following year. The organization 's name refers to the rights of the people with disabilities to make decisions and to get services that society should provide. The organizat ion makes right -based work wirh issues considering people with disabilities and its primary activities include advocacy and inclusion of people with disabilities in political decision-making. The organization also provides advicing and training on issues related to persons with disabilities and informs the rights of disabled people . CIL – Kathmandu’s advocacy, together with some other organizations, has impacted on, that several ministries are now accessible communicated.

The UN Women implemented project Advancing Resilience and Empowerment ARE is part of the annual work plan for the year 2017 of UN Women's Nepal Country Office. The project is being implemented in the course of 2017 and its total budget is 400.000 EUR. The ARE project is divided into two result areas. The first result area aims to strengthen the capacity of duty bearers (authorities and government) to integrate gender equality objectives into policies and plans. The project provides technical expertise in su pport of drafting Nepal's second NAP and key national legislation with relevance for advancing gender equality obligations enshrined in the constitution. The project also provides technical support to mainstream gender equality and social inclusion objecti ves into post-earthquake reconstruction planning. The second result area focuses on strengthening the ability of excluded women's groups for economic and social participation. The beneficiaries are provided with vocational and entrepreneurship training as well as counseling in disaster preparedness training and humanitarian crisis management. As for the first results area the activities benefit the entire country as the focus is on national level plans and policies. The second results area focuses on 1600 b eneficiaries comprised of girls and women from crisis affected or marginalized groups.The ARE project is a continuation of the Finnish-funded SIWPSAN project which supported the drafting and implementation of Nepal's first National Action Plan on UN securi ty council resolutions 1325 and 1820. The project is currently being evaluated and the results are very promising; some of the targets have even been exceeded. The Ministry for Women Children and Social Welfare and the Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction has taken up the project activities as best practices in the implementing the National Action Plans.

Poor women from deprived communities are not in a position to access loan from banks or other financial institutions or financial service providers due to lack of physical collateral. The poor, indigenous women and girls are exploited from various forms of discrimination. Therefore there is a comprehensive need to build the capacity of deprived poor women to increase their access to financial capital with low interest rate. The local government bodies have not fully owned and realised the importance of wome n’s participation in planning process and providing justifiable share of resources to the women in their location. Strengthening cooperatives and their linkages with local bodies, including Ward Citizen Forum and Citizen Awareness Centre (CAC) are requir ed to increase women’s access to resources and services. Most of the women still lack legal ownership of their land. Cooperatives still lack adequate knowledge and skills to develop strong linkages with market actors for enterprise development. Lack of v ocational skill training and micro entrepreneurship skills among women and out of school youth girls, denial of women to property rights, gender based discrimination and women’s right violation justify the need to implement this project in Lalitpur distr ict of Nepal. The overall objective of the project is to improve women’s economic and socio-cultural status. The specific objective is to develop and strengthen women-led local institutions for promoting economic, social and cultural rights of poor and m arginalised women communities in Lalitpur. Although Nepal has made tremendous progress on educational attainment lately the hard to reach group children in the project location villages of Gimdi Asrang and Thuladurlung of Lalitpur district are out of school the drop-out rate is high and the quality of education and school management is not satisfactory. Effective management of school and education is seriously problematic highly centralized and with inadequate local ownership. Besides many community schools have become hotbeds of corruption with loc al leaders fighting for the appointment of teachers and resources. The overall development objective is to attain improved status of education and literacy in project locations through efficient education governance in active engagement of community local government and participation of children. Immediate objectives of the project are enhanced engagement of local governments in education planning and interventions; improved access to school management and quality of education with capacitated accountable a nd democratic School Management Committees (SMC); and increased engagement of parents community and children in educational planning and implementation.The project will enhance the right to quality education for easily marginalized groups such as dalit and tamang (or janajati) children. Inclusive education is promoted to children with disabilities. These actions contribute also to reduction of inequalities. Majority of the target group children are girls and therefore special attention is paid to consider g ender equality in all activities. Climate sustainability is also taken into account in awareness raising campaigns conducted by child clubs.The project has a comprehensive target group who are key actors on changing school and education environment. It inc ludes the 4100 target children and their parents policy makers civil society actors media schoolteachers SMCs Parents Teachers Association (PTA) members and education officials. These groups are reached through different interventions; such as capacity bui lding collaborative consultations with responsible authorities along with wider awareness campaigns and mass mobilizations. The Government of Finland has contributed to development in the education sector since 1999 and is currently one of the development partners supporting the Nepali Government with financing and implementation of the School Sector Reform Plan (SSRP). Interpedia ry and Loo Niva Child Concern have previously partnered in Far West Nepal with projects in 2012-2014 and 2015-2017. The Concern for Education -projects have supported children?s right to access to free quality education in rural Far-West Dadeldh ura area. Dadeldhura is one of the less developed areas in Nepal where vulnerable groups such as girls ethnic minorities and Dalits (the lower caste) still face discrimination and have lower accessibility to education. The projects have successfully manage d to improve the status of basic education by training and sensitizing children parents teacher and local authorities for their role in promoting the Right to Education; by establishing children?s groups for strengthening children?s active participation in society; supporting local Concern for Education- and Education Watch Groups in supervising and promoting quality education and using local and social medium for raising awareness about education and good educational practices. The projects have aimed at m aking schools as No Politics Zones supporting peaceceful education fulfillment of child rights and avoiding misuse of schools as an instrument of political targets and conflicts.For ensuring that the good practices that have been developed and introduced d uring the previous phase can be spread the next phase of the project will focus even more on promoting basic and primary level education in Dadeldhura area with effective engagement of local actors of civil society. After the new constitution in September 2015 NGOs and civil society have a significant opportunity to strengthen their role in policy-making as well as to advance the democratization process in Nepal. Due to that training and empowering local communities will be important parts of promoting educ ation during forthcoming years. Trained local communities will also ensure sustainable redistribution of roles and responsibilities of improving the right to education as well as new ways to finance education promotion activities after the inputs from Loo Niva. The project balances direct project interventions and advocacy work with a clear geographicacal focus in the remote Far West area.

2018Agriterra has started collaboration with AACL in March 2017 which gave opportunities to know each other better. During 2017 Agriterra mainly focused on study of cooperative vegetables marketing strengthening institutional capacity in managing agricultural cooperatives and on financial management. As follow up of advisory services in 2017 AACL has started mushroom and tomato packaging with cooperative logos and provision of vegetable price list daily on the notice board. AACL has formed separate management team for cooperative marketing. These activities have resulted in increased sales turnover of vegetable marketing. Currently AACL is only able to absorb approximately 2 percent of total production of its members through one cooperative outlet. AACL has made a plan to add two new outlets and use different sales channels for increasing the sales turnover. AACL would like to further position itself in the vegetable marketing by adding value to the products of its members with own branding logos and packaging. In order to do that there is need to further improving financial management and increase capital to support the marketing plans. AACL has formulated BHAG to develop and implement a sustainable and cooperative vegetable output marketing modality for the 150 commercial farmer members. The proposed activities are made to achieve sales turnover of cooperative vegetables marketing of Rs.25 million in 2018.2019Since 2017 Agrtiterra has been providing advisory support to AACL. In 2017 Agriterra focused on study of cooperative vegetables marketing strengthening institutional capacity on cooperatives and financial management. In 2018 the collaboration focused on institutional capacity development on strategic financial management internal capitalization governance and market development. AACL developed 3 years business plan for vegetable marketing. These efforts resulted to increase sales turnover by 2 times compare to 2017. The sales turnover was NPR 10 million in 2017 and NPR 20 million in 2018.AACL would like to further position itself in the vegetable marketing by professionalizing its marketing services and adding value to the products. AACL has set goals to achieve sales turnover of NPR.66 million by own main and branch outlets home delivery and delivering to restaurant hotels and hostel. Main objective is to work towards the financial sustainability of the federation by providing quality services to its members focussing on improved farm profitability and positioning the cooperatives actively in the agricultural value chain . It fits very well with the government programme: one village one product OVOP. The project will also conduct 3 days seminar on inclusive education for 45 participants to teach about disability and the importance of inclusion in scho ols. The participants will be parents of CWDs, students with disabilities, teachers and other stakeholders. There will be a resolution on inclusive education after the seminar that will need to be adopted by all participants.
