Marginalised people are not prepared for, able to respond and timely recover from the impact of disaster. Poverty, injustice, inequality and discrimination persist in the communities. Therefore, there is a need to implement the project in Kailali, Dailekh, Doti, Lalitpur, Morang and Jhapa districts of Nepal.Nepal Development Programme aims at improving food insecurity, sustainable livelihoods and gender equality as well as decease caste/ethnicity-based discriminations, mitigate disaster and climate change i mpacts and empower towards enforcement of human rights as well as participation in decision making at local and national context. Programme covers 30 Village Development Committees (VDCs). The implementing partner (LWF Nepal) intends to work with 3,000 fam ilies who are poor, most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Activities include Disaster risk management /climate change risk management, community empowerment and awareness raising, infrastructure and agriculture development, women empowerment, advocacy and net working, improving access and facilities to education , higher / vocational education support , civic education, human rights monitoring, strengthening community based organisation (CBOs) and their networks and capacity development for peace and developmen t. Project is implemented by Finn Church Aid’s local partner Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal.Rights-holders /beneficiaries: Marginalised, vulnerable and conflict-affected people such as Dalit, freed bonded labourers, disaster affected population, e thnic minorities, landless, women-headed households and childrenImplementing partner: The Lutheran World Federation Nepal (LWF Nepal).
