Addressing health needs in the earthquake affected population

WHO will procure and deliver standard emergency health kits and water quality and waste management supplies to health facilities in 14 districts. UNICEF will provide clean delivery and newborn kits and support mobile clinics to ensure that some 290,000 children under five have access to primary health care services. Emergency Relief Support Project in Ilam

Earthquake response 2023

The epicenter was located in Ramidanda, Jajarkot district. Several aftershocks occurred, causing significant distress among the local population. These aftershocks (as of 08.11.23) have compelled residents to evacuate their homes and shelter in open areas, with experts warning of the possibility of a major aftershock in the affected areas. It was reported as 158 people have died, with 13,705 households affected and 12,060 households displaced. 9,483 houses have been fully destroyed and a further 19,286 partially destroyed.
