The Strategic Partnership on Subnational Governance in Nepal aims to promote more effective subnational governance in order to improve local service-delivery and support local economic governance. The primary objective of the Partnership will be to accompany Nepal through its ongoing transition to federalism by supporting activities to develop an enabling environment for the growth of strong and effective subnational governments that can respond to the needs of citizens, with an emphasis on the needs of historically marginalized groups, women, and girls. In particular, subnational governments will be supported to improve service delivery and economic governance, thereby contributing to local economic development and overall poverty reduction in Nepal.
