Strengthening Inclusive Disaster Risk Governance for Climate Resilience in Asia - Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia

Strengthening Inclusive Disaster Risk Governance for Climate Resilience in Asia is a collaboration between the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Duryog Nivaran and the Asia Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRN). The intervention will last for 4.5 years. IRC is the leading organization in the consortium and is the agreement partner to Sida. The main geographic focus of the programme is South Asia and Southeast Asia. The consortium will strengthen the resilience of communities at risk to climate change. This will be achieved by: (1) strengthening regional networks of civil society organizations to achieve inclusive climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction; (2) mitigating power imbalances that lead to increased climate and disaster risks facing women, men, girls, and boys and other at-risk groups; and (3) helping communities, local governments, and other stakeholders to take sustainable local-level adaptive actions and contribute to environmental sustainability.
