Food relief, COVID kits and educational support
This project aims to provide immedicate food relief, essential COVID-kits to 196 rural women (benefitting 980 family members) in Doti and Dadeldhura district (Far-Western Region) who are facing social, economic and natural hardship due to second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Further, it helps to provide educational support to 10 children for a year, who lost their family members due to COVID-19.

Building Climate Resilience of Watersheds in Mountain Eco-Regions
The Project will support the implementation of the Strategic Program for Climate Resilience (SPCR) which has recently been developed by the Government of Nepal in partnership with Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank and was endorsed by the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience sub-committee of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) on 28 June 2011. Within the overall framework of the SPCR, the Project will enable communities in mountainous ecosystems that are significantly vulnerable to climate change impacts to have improved access to and reliability of watershed and water resources. The Project aims to provide access to more reliable water resources for domestic purposes and irrigation for communities living in the watersheds of Nepal's river systems, which are significantly vulnerable to climate change. The watersheds selected lie in six districts in the Far-Western Development Region: Achham, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, and Doti. Access to and reliability of water resources will be improved through a participatory program of integrated watershed management with interventions in upland areas to increase surface water storage and groundwater recharge.

Community Irrigation Project
The project will develop or improve small-scale irrigation systems in 12 districts in Nepal through a community-driven process targeted at the poor, women, and other disadvantaged groups. Small irrigation systems are defined as systems with less than 25 hectares of irrigation area in the hills and mountains and less than 200 hectares in the Terai plains. The participating districts were selected because of their high poverty, food insecurity and irrigation potential. They are Kanchanpur, Kailali, Dang, Kapilvastu in the Terai plains; Doti, Salyan, Rukum, Rolpa, Pyuthan in the hills; and Bajhang, Jumla, Mugu in the mountains. As the first large-scale intervention in small irrigation development in Nepal, the project will demonstrate participatory irrigation planning and management and build the capacity of all levels of the government for small-scale irrigation development. Farmers will form or strengthen existing water users associations (WUAs) to apply for project support. The project will provide support to rehabilitate and build new surface water irrigation schemes and to develop groundwater irrigation through shallow tube wells. It will also facilitate access to microfinance support and provide extension services. For farmers without access to electricity who are installing shallow tube wells, the project will connect them to the electricity network. WUAs will in turn learn to manage water more efficiently and equitably, maintain their systems, and apply improved agricultural practices.

Nepal Development Programme aims at improving food insecurity, sustainable livelihoods and gender equality as well as decease caste/ethnicity-based discriminations, mitigate disaster and climate change impacts and empower towards enforcement of human right s as well as participation in decision-making at local and national context. Programme covers 30 Village Development Committees (VDCs). Expected results:• Enhanced capacity of disadvantaged communities to reduce disaster risk and to prepare for, respond to and, when necessary recover from emergencies and disasters.• Increased income and food security attained by all members within disadvantaged households.• Increased capacity of cooperatives in enhancing the sustainable livelihoods of their membership , with particular focus on the poorer segments.• Increased participation, voice and influence of priority populations in local institutions and decision-making processes.
