The project empowers Nepalese youth by promoting democratic values and active participation in decision-making. In partnership with KFUM-Spejderne i Danmark, Nepal Scouts will focus on intercultural exchange, leadership development, and community engagement. Key activities include leadership training, educational materials on democracy and human rights, and center exchanges. Targeting young scouts, the project strengthens their role in local and national governance through youth councils and peer-to-peer learning, where youth educate youth across provinces and in all 700 local groups.

A partnership project is a large project (up to 750.000 DKK). A partnership project allows you to work strategically with children and youth activities, organizational development and capacity building, and advocacy. A partnership project is expected to have a significant impact which will last after the project support has ended.Before writing the application, go through the guidelines for DUFs International Pool. Your project will be evaluated based on the 6 evaluation criteria(page 42). In our future partnership project, we wish to build the activities on our experiences from our last pilot project where mainly members of PSRN-sc went to rural areas of Nepal to teach young people in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The objectives of this preparatory study are to examine the opportunities of educating in SRHR to the same extent as we succeed in the pilot project. Other than that we wish to expand the teaching material with information about mental health and furthermore to investigate the possibility of reaching additional rural areas of Nepal.

The pilot project aims to organize a national youth forum in Nepal, bringing together Nepalese youth scouts from all provinces with the purpose of electing and supporting a youth council. The project also involves the participation of Danish youth as participants/facilitators, fostering intercultural exchange and discussions on democratic processes within their respective organizations. The Danish participants will gain inspiration and ideas from the interactions with the Nepalese scouts, observing their youth programs and initiatives. Meanwhile, the Nepalese participants will develop action plans at provincial and national levels, empowering them to become local changemakers. The target groups of the project include Danish and Nepalese youth, as well as the partnering organizations involved.

This IATI activity file represents the grantees receiving AmplifyChange funding for their projects in Nepal. Certain projects may have been anonymised in the data for safety and security reasons. AmplifyChange is a multi-donor fund that supports civil society organisations who advocate for improved sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). AmplifyChange offers both financial and capacity-building support to selected civil society organisations through a challenge fund model, where organisations submit applications in competitive funding rounds. AmplifyChange is managed by MannionDaniels in consortium with the African Women’s Development Fund and Global Fund for Women. AmplifyChange was tendered in 2013, established in 2014, and the first funding rounds were held in 2015. The number of donors have increased since the beginning to a current total pot of approximately £90 million available for grant making (correct as of end-2017); the additional donor commitments have been extended to 2021. The donors include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark (Danida), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, ViiV Healthcare, the Department of International Development (DFID) the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) working with the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU), and one anonymous donor. Please refer to the parent IATI activity of this country activity for more information on the Fund. AmplifyChange Fund support civil society organisations (CSOs) primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, with some small grants being extended to organisations operating in Latin America, the Middle East and East Asia. Applicants can apply across four grant types: 1) Opportunity Grants: maximum 10,000 Euros over 1-year maximum 2) Strengthening Grants: between 40,000 – 100,000 Euros over 6 to 24 months 3) Network Grants: between 150,000 – 550,000 Euros over 2 years 4) Strategic Grants: between 550,000 to 2 million Euros over 2 years.

Sisters for Sisters Education in Nepal 1. Training marginalised girls to complete a full cycle of education. These girls provide academic and emotional support to some of the most marginalised girls, or ‘Little Sisters’, by ‘Big Sisters’, who mentor the girls through their schooling and act as positive role models. International volunteers train and support the Big Sisters, and work with them to mobilise commitment in communities and resources for the continuation of the scheme. 2. Providing nine-month "Bridge Courses" (preparatory classes and school enrolment support) to girls who have never been to school or who dropped out in Grades 1 to 3 and learning support classes to low performing girls to help keep them in school 3. Mentoring the Big Sisters through male and female ‘adult champions’ from the local community facilitates negotiations with parents, adding credibility to the scheme. 4. Establishing gender-friendly school environments in schools that the projects’ marginalised girls attend.
