P. Pradhan and his family will own 100% of the hotels equity. Project Cost Including proposed IFC investment Project cost is $7 million and proposed IFC investment is $2.45 million A loan and $1.05 million B loan - Location of project and Description of site Jomsom, Mustang District. The hotel will be located in Jomsom in West Nepal. The site is a relatively flat piece of land with no vegetation. - Description of Company and Purpose of Project The sole purpose of the company would be to build and operate the hotel in Jomsom, Nepal. - Environmental Category and Issues This is an environmental review category B project. Environmental, health and safety issues include liquid effluent treatment and disposal, solid waste, water supply, power supply, site selection and land use, fire safety, employee training, and emergency response. The land is barren and is not being used for any purpose. It is not suitable for growing and there is no vegetation on the land. The mitigating measures include a waste water treatment plant, an incinerator for solid waste disposal, water filtration plant for drinking water, wind mill for environmentally friendly power generation. In order to minimize the environmental impact, the Sponsors are planning to build the hotel with no more than two floors thus eliminating the need for sprinkler system. The employees will be provided with training to respond to fire and other emergencies. Likewise, there will be no air conditioning, which will eliminate the issue of CFC. Lo Gekhar is widely considered to be the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Mustang. This project involves the documentation of the site and surrounding landscape, promotes inclusive socio-economic growth and builds capacities of local institutions and communities to mitigate disaster risks.

Rejuvenation of apple orchards through soil fertility, and disease and pest management in Marpha, Mustang
The main objective of the project is to build capacity of the target beneficiaries to address existing problems of the apple crop production in Marpha village using agro-ecosystem approaches and practices and thereby improving income, and food and nutrition security status.

F.a: Village electrification with wind turbine and solar power system in Nepal's Upper Mustang region
In the project a hybrid electricity system based on wind and photovoltaic will be installed in very remote Chumjung village in dry upland area of Upper Mustang in the northernmost Nepal. The one-kilowatt windmill will be constructed locally from Nepalese materials. Reliability to village electrification will be provided by 3 kW solar electricity system. Direct beneficiaries include around 130 persons in 40 households. Also village school will receive electricity. Village Electrification Committee (VEC) wi ll be responsible for all decision making during project implementation and post-construction including operation and management of the system, as well as sets the electricity tariffs for households. The desired development impact of the project is the so cio-economic upliftment of the last-mile community through the use of modern energy services, and improved promotion of solar wind hybrid technology through demonstration for communities in similar geographical locations of Nepal. The anticipated outcomes of project are: Electrification of the current households and the only primary school in Chumjung village. Enhanced capacity of local users to operate and manage installed energy system. Project partner is Nepalese NGO Energy, Environment Research and Deve lopment Centre (EERDC), which works to improve the livelihoods of rural people by providing sustainable and renewable energy technologies. In this project, EERDC partners with People Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA) NGO, which has ple nty of experience in implementing energy projects and in supporting local participation in them. www.eerdc.org.np and www.peeda.net
