F.a: SUS: Uplift Community Development Program
Poverty is the core problem of the project areas and beneficiaries, resulting problems that include food insecurity and widespread malnutrition, illiteracy and lack of access to employment opportunities and inaccessibility to basic facilities such as water and sanitation. Most Dalits are deprived of their basic human rights such as citizenship and land-rights. Similarly most children are deprived even of primary education, and there are cases of high early drop-outs. Caste and gender based discriminations against women and socially excluded people still prevail thus depriving them of public service delivery such as income generating, health, education, and access to social security benefits. The project, that covers three districts, Morang, Sarlahi and Chit wan, aims to tackle these problems with the objective that the poor and excluded people are socially, economically and legally empowered.

The aim of the project is to promote the implementation of the ESC rights, especially right to education, food and health at the local level by raising awareness in local communities of their rights and the capacity to claim their rights, as well as influe ncing the authorities and capacitating them of their obligations. Government accountability should influence in the equal access to rights. In addition, the aim is to monitor the implementation of the commitments relating to the rights and administrative programs, and to promote links between rights holders and accountables. The main result of project objectives are as follows 1. The local community capacity to demand the right to education, food and health implementation has been strengthened: 2. The Gov ernment and local authorities responsibility TSS implementation Rights has increased. The primary target group of the project are the local communities, as well as the responsible local authorities and service providers in 5 village committees in five diff erent counties. Particular attention is paid to the participation of vulnerable groups such as Dalits and indigenous communities, as well as in the consideration of the gender equality. Districts are the same as in the previous project: Morang, Makawanpur, Kaski, Banke and Kailali. The village committee new ones. Based on the results of the previous project, the primary beneficiaries, the amount can be estimated at around 4 000 people. Insec was founded in 1988, its main aims is to promote the rights of per sons working in informal sectors. Since then, the organization in its field has expanded. INSEC is one of the most important and most reliable human rights organization in Nepal. The organization was registered in 1991. It makes extensive documentation and reporting, and also acts as a central source for data of human rights situation in Nepal. INSEC's activities include monitoring, advocacy, information at the grassroots level and the training and capacitating of different actors. INSEC's focus has been p romoting in particular the cultural and political rights and democracy, but the organization's new strategy emphasizes more strongly the ESC rights. www.insec.org.np

Nepal Development Programme aims at improving food insecurity, sustainable livelihoods and gender equality as well as decease caste/ethnicity-based discriminations, mitigate disaster and climate change impacts and empower towards enforcement of human right s as well as participation in decision-making at local and national context. Programme covers 30 Village Development Committees (VDCs). Expected results:• Enhanced capacity of disadvantaged communities to reduce disaster risk and to prepare for, respond to and, when necessary recover from emergencies and disasters.• Increased income and food security attained by all members within disadvantaged households.• Increased capacity of cooperatives in enhancing the sustainable livelihoods of their membership , with particular focus on the poorer segments.• Increased participation, voice and influence of priority populations in local institutions and decision-making processes. F.a: Empowering Blind Persons in Morang District
Morang Association of the Blind (MAB) will provide organizational management training, and advocacy and lobbying skills training to their membership. MAB will also provide musical training and vocational training like mushroom production and goat rearing. The intention is for the trainees to apply for local government money to start working after training.

The Government has taken a number of action plans and policies designed to promote the realization of public health, education and food security. At the local level policies and plans rarely are implemented, and examples of the money allocated to the vulne rable groups' education often ends up in some other use. The project aims to promote ESC rights, especially the the realization right to education, food and health. The project aims to promote that the Government's plans for the realization of the above-me ntioned rights are concerned, to increase the public officers’ responsibility and capacity, by increasing the transparency of public authorities and the beneficiaries' awareness of their rights. The project builds the capacity of the responsible authorit ies, so that they contribute to the realization of plans the government the right to education, food and health-related issues. The project will also inform the communities about their rights focusing on these rights. The project will be implemented in fiv e counties: Morang, Makawanpur, Kaski, Banke and Kailali. INSEC is Nepal's most important and most reliable universal human rights organizations. Informal Sector Service Centre INSEC was registered in 1991. Organization works particularly strong in documen tation and reporting of human rights and is a reliable information source of human rights situation in Nepal. www.inseconline.org
