Project justification: #The Sindhuli area is mainly resided by marginalized and ethnic minority groups such Tamang, Danuwar and Majhi along with others caste groups. The economic and social development status of target groups (socially marginalized and ethnic minority groups) is low. Womens engagement in social and economic development initiatives is limited regardless their huge contribution for family economy. Awareness of women on possible options for income generation and services available from the government agencies is very limited. The local population in the target area do not have reliable access to finance as financial intuitions are located mostly in urban centres. #4. The main objective and the expected results: #The main objective of the project is to contribute for poverty reduction in remote Village Development Committees of Sindhuli district. The project aims to strengthen social and economic status of socially marginalized groups through enhancing access to finance, engagement in appropriate enterprises and social empowerment. Local population, including socially marginalized groups, will diversify their income from access to finance, farm + off farm based enterprises and business development. Governance at local level will be strengthened and communities will access government services in line with the prevailing policies. The project will support the es tablishment of new cooperatives and strengthening the capacity of existing cooperatives. Furthermore, it will support vocational training and creation of sustainable linkages to profitable markets at national level.#5. USAID Inclusive Livelihoods Central activity is being implemented in Kathmandu and Dhading District in central Nepal. This is a three-year fixed amount milestone-based USAID activity, with 12 milestones (summarized below) to be achieved by the end of the project on October 31, 2025. The overall objective is the economic empowerment of people with disabilities in both rural and urban areas of central Nepal, through the mobilization of people with disabilities, livelihoods training and to promoting inclusive employment at the national level. The activitys inclusive livelihoods component aims to provide people with disabilities and their households with the mutual support, experience, skills, and capacity that will bring them greater economic independence and resilience. Ten women-led self-help groups (SHGs) will be established in each of Gokarneshwor (an urban/peri-urban municipality in Kathmandu) and Thakre Rural Municipality in Dhading District, bringing together at least 180 people with disabilities and family careers in each area, who will be supported to set up small enterprises for income generation and saving. Through the activitys training component in Kathmandu valley, 224 young people with disabilities, mostly women, will gain access to vocational training designed to meet both their learning needs and the requirements of employers. By completing their training courses and through mentoring and work-related learning, 224 young adults will have improved prospects for meaningful employment. The activitys advocacy component aims to celebrate and multiply inclusive employment practices, to promote enabling environments and help tackle the legal, regulatory, and cultural barriers that hold people with disabilities back from full participation in economic life. Unemployment is a big problem in Nepal and especially it concerns the youth in the country. The project supports youth in skills improvement and identification of income ideas. Also free time activities are provided to create meaningful ways to spend time. This project works with youth in Nepal, helping them to improve their skills and to get a job. Youth empowerment has been done through the career and counseling programs and free-time activities. Project goal is improved quality of life among vulnerable p eople. The purpose is increased employment opportunities of youth in the community of the Banke and Nuwakot districts. Fida partners with a local NGO, Nepal Integral Mission Society (NIMS). As a result, the youth are more equipped in finding jobs as their skill level has improved and they have received career counselling. The youth also utilize their free time on more productive activities than before.

The project has been implemented to improve livelihood of poor families in project area communities, where most of the community people are dependent on traditional agriculture. Even though they have enough natural resources, they are not being able to uti lize them due to lack of skills and appropriate technology. The project has provided training on livelihood area e.g. appropriate farming and livestock. The project has also worked together with schools by giving trainings to teachers and providing support for classroom management. This has been done in child sponsorship are in Chitwan but also in Okhaldunga's working area, and there are together 13 Kids' clubs. The project goal is improved quality of life among the vulnerable people. Project purpose is imp roved livelihood of 450 families in Khijikati, Khijifalate, khijichandeshwori, Ragani and Pokali VDCs of Okhaldhunga district and Padampur VDC of Chitwan district. Fida’s partner in the project is a local NGO, Rescue Nepal. The project results in increas ed livestock production, appropriate farming methods, fruit farming and income generating activities. Teachers and school management committees are provided with information on child friendly education and kid’s clubs are actively functioning. The projec t benefits children, adults and ethnic group farmers.
