F.a: Sustainable Livelihood and Child Development Project
The project has been implemented to improve livelihood of poor families in project area communities, where most of the community people are dependent on traditional agriculture. Even though they have enough natural resources, they are not being able to uti lize them due to lack of skills and appropriate technology. The project has provided training on livelihood area e.g. appropriate farming and livestock. The project has also worked together with schools by giving trainings to teachers and providing support for classroom management. This has been done in child sponsorship are in Chitwan but also in Okhaldunga's working area, and there are together 13 Kids' clubs. The project goal is improved quality of life among the vulnerable people. Project purpose is imp roved livelihood of 450 families in Khijikati, Khijifalate, khijichandeshwori, Ragani and Pokali VDCs of Okhaldhunga district and Padampur VDC of Chitwan district. Fida’s partner in the project is a local NGO, Rescue Nepal. The project results in increas ed livestock production, appropriate farming methods, fruit farming and income generating activities. Teachers and school management committees are provided with information on child friendly education and kid’s clubs are actively functioning. The projec t benefits children, adults and ethnic group farmers.
