Our "Strong Foundations" project will improve the early childhood education experience for hundreds of children ages 3-5 in 23 classrooms in Ramdhuni Municipality, Nepal. ETC and partner Save the Earth will: 1. Provide classroom materials, furniture, and recreational items; 2. Offer best-practice-based teacher training; 3. Host regular networking opportunities for the teachers (all women); and 4. Encourage parents' active involvement and support.

During the practice of Chhaupadi, which is wide-spread in parts of Nepal, girls and women are regarded as 'impure' during their period. They are excluded from participating in socio-economic and school life, locked out of the house (sometimes sleeping in sheds), refused access to public areas, cannot eat certain foods and have no contact with men. This project decreases discriminatory practices surrounding periods, transforms assumptions and repairs the self-confidence of affected women.

Over 90 boys and girls as young as 6 years old currently work in brick factories in Rautahat, Southern Nepal, instead of going to school. This project will ensure the children will receive a good quality education and no longer work in the factories. Their families will be supported so they don't suffer financially as a result of their children attending school. Once all 90 children are helped, we will replicate the project in neighbouring villages where the need is equally large.

The children of Birgunj need your help. Many are trafficked from India or far provinces of Nepal to work in hotels, restaurants, brick kilns, and even large industrial factories. Our Sansar Nepal established a child help number and a child safe transition center. Many children rescues can be reunited with their families with a little help. Our Sansar provides a safe transition center, medical care, trauma counseling, bridge education, and social workers to work with reintegration.

The government is therefore failing to ensure an inclusive high quality education system for Dalit ("untouchable") girls with blindness who are between 5-16 years of age. Being unruly and undisciplined they were not socially acceptable in communities and school PAM started judo training from 2009 to make disciplined. They were champions in judo and won games abroad.
