Promoting Inclusive Education of Blind Girls
In Nepal, education policy-makers are not aware of what inclusive education really means. The government is therefore failing to ensure an inclusive high quality education system for Dalit ("untouchable") girls with blindness who are between 5-16 years of age. As a result, in remote rural Nepal, illiteracy remains high among Dalit women with blindness. Dalit girls with disabilities face multiple forms of discrimination and violence because of their caste, gender and disability status.
