Safe Water for Poor Rural Communities of Southern Terai
Improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized families of Pidari Village and Fatuha Maheshpur in the southern Terai lowlands of Nepal by providing them with access to safe drinking water that meets the Nepal Government Standard. In the longer term (2 -3 years after receipt of safe water begins in the third year of the project), we expect to see these villages become home to healthier communities – with the number of water -based illnesses decreasing, healthier children in school, and increased productivity. After the project has finished, our local partners in the area continue to monitor communities and will be able to provide updates on their general health, in particular the number of water -related diseases being reported.
