Climate Change Adaptation and Advocacy Project in Nepal

Over the period of 38 months, the proposed project will work with active Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), that were formed and capacitated by the existing projects, such as women empowerment centre (WEC), farmer's groups, community forestry user's groups (CFUG), community disaster management committees (CDMCs), youths' groups etc. Through these groups, we will reach the most marginalized, climate affected poor, excluded and women groups. To meet the long -term development objective, the project will focus its field level climate change action works to one municipality in Rautahat district i.e., Chandrapur municipality. The community level climate action works will be captured as evidence for provincial and federal level influencing and advocacy. The evidence generation and advocacy works can be done side by side however it takes some time to collect evidence and do advocacy and influencing works. The target for influencing work is local government, provincial government, federal government and international stakeholders as well. Over the period of 38 months, the project will directly reach to 5,000 people from 1,000 House Holds (HHs) through 10 CBOs/CSOs. Out of 10 CBOs/CSOs, at least 2 will be women's organizations such as WEC or women's groups.
