Women Empowerment Progremme in Nepal
The main thrust of the project lies in political and economic empowerment of poor rural women throughout Oxfam's country programme. The strategy is to develop their skills through women's discussion classes referred to as Women's Empowerment Centres (WECs) that are based on REFLECT approach. The women leaders will demonstrate their leadership skills within local community decision -making structures such as Community Forestry User Groups, School Management Committees, Sub/Health Posts management Committees, Water and Sanitation User Groups, village to national level disaster management committees, cooperatives etc.
