Emergency Protection of the Kaiser Library Collections and Post-Earthquake Stabilization of the Late-19th-Century Kaiser Mahal in Kathmandu
Since the late 1960s, the Kaiser Mahal has been home to the Kaiser Library, one of Nepals oldest libraries. This project, which involves emergency stabilization of the south wing of the building and the protection of books, maps, manuscripts, furnishings, and other objects in the library, directly supports the U.S. embassys efforts to strengthen U.S. cooperation with the government and people of Nepal on disaster risk reduction and response.
