This project will focus on improving protection, prosecution and standards of care in childrens homes (including orphanages where child trafficking is potentially present) by strengthening provincial and local anti-HT and CP structures and mechanisms. To this end, it will work with regulatory bodies at all three levels (national, provincial and local) formed under the Childrens Act 2018 and those to be created through amendment of the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act (HTTCA) 2007, to develop or update regulatory frameworks governing child institutionalization and human trafficking. The project will also facilitate integration of regulatory frameworks at local levels. Survivor-civic engaged accountability measures will be set up to pressure government and key stakeholders for a pro-active response to ensure that childrens homes are monitored by authorities, operate under minimum standards and integrate adequate protection mechanisms against child trafficking and risks of voluntourism and all persons involved in crimes are prosecuted regardless of their status and position.

This project includes the comprehensive documentation of the Kartik Nach and the transmission of the tradition through training workshops.

Major earthquakes in 1833 and 1934 and decades of neglect and disuse have left their mark on the palace, most of which dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. This phase includes the restoration of the late 18th-century Bahadur Shah palace wing.
