On 09 April, 2015, a sudden fire started from a house leaving 160 houses of a village
in Rampura Malhaniya-5, Saptari in ashes.
According to District Administration Office, properties worth Rs. 20 million were destroyed and 65 families were
rendered homeless in the incident. The houses had thatched roofs and timber and bamboo walls hence the fire quickly
spread throughout the village. JOA granted Habitat for Humanity £30,000 for the provision of emergency shelter.
