The project aims at significantly improving the health situation and economic independence of women in the project area and empowering them to advocate for their right and preparing them to take on leading positions in local governance bodies. The project will develop the agriculture and business skills of the farmers (mostly female) and develop new market mechanism for sale of agricultural products. The project will focus on family health, on nutrition, safe drinking water and maternal health. Furthermore, the project will continue RDTA’s well-established programme and methodology for promotion of crops and farming practices that are less vulnerable to the on-going climate change in the Himalayas
