Earthquake Response and Recovery for Dhading District affected Communites

The 3 years project implemented in 5 village Development Committees (with selected activities in other 3 VDCs) of Dhading district aims at contributing to a gender responsive sustainable recovery and reducing risk among 43000 vulnerable affected women (at least 52%) men, boys, girls, elderly . To this aim, the project includes multisector emergency response, increase ability of communities to sustain gender sensitive WASH services, to sustain livelihoods despite of shocks and to access resources for resilient shelter. It will also contribute to increasing capacity of the target groups/committees to identify their needs & opportunities, influence decisions affecting them, communities mobilization, awareness on safe Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) practices, and advocate for the access on the resources & services for recovery & reconstruction by March 2018. The project also aims at influencing government practices of services delivery for improved gender responsive assistance. Safe and equitable access for women and men to support is a key outcome of the project.
