Save the victims affected by STORM Disaster
Massive winds accompanied by hailstorms and rain struck Bara and Parsa late on 31 March 2019. A freak storm battered several places in Southern Nepal killing 31 people and injuring more than 700 others as high speed wind tore down houses, flipped vehicles and toppled trees and electricity poles. Villagers at Purainiya in Bara district search for belongings in the rubble after the storm brought down their homes . The storm swept through villages in a farming region of Bara and Parsa of Nepal

Prevention of Human Trafficking in Nepal
We will work with marginalized women and children of Makwanpur and Parsa district to prevent human trafficking and unsafe migration and raise mass awareness on these issues through mobilization of community groups called Surveillance Groups. Human Trafficking is one of the serious problems in Nepal. It is a means of exploitation of women and children by forcing them into the sex industry, domestic and factory labor, organ transplantation and illegal adoption.

Terai Arc: Community stewardship to secure wildlife corridors and livelihoods
Protected areas in Nepal’s Terai Arc Landscape are fragmented, meaning recovering wildlife populations (like tiger and rhino) in Parsa National Park are pushed towards human settlements in surrounding buffer zones, increasing human-wildlife conflict, with particularly negative impacts for women and Indigenous communities disproportionately reliant on forest resources. This project will secure connectivity between protected areas and northern Shivalik hills using a corridor of community-managed forests; mitigate human-wildlife conflict; and reduce communities’ dependence on resources through diversified livelihoods and enhanced agroforestry.

Unlocking doors to basic health and education for children with Sensory disabilities in Bara and Parsa districts of Nepal
In Nepal children are not screened for visual or hearing impairments and knowledge of eye- and ear health is generally poor. Having a disability is still greatly stigmatised. Although the majority of children in Nepal have access to education children with disabilties (CwD) are mostly excluded from it which is a major risk for marginalisation. The project is a follow-up of a 2-year pilot in Bara district (2017-18) which will be extended in Bara and Parsa. The aim is to increase the enrollment of 3 to 14-yea r-old children with vision or hearing impairment in public schools. Districts have high rates of poverty and school attendance is very low. Also the human right's of CwD's are largely violated. The majority of pupils are boys therefore the project promotes girls' right to education. The project will educate female community health volunteers (FCHVs) to identify children with vision or hearing issues. The children identified through screening are examined at Eye + Ear Camps to diagnose the impairments found. It is estimated that the most of these impairments can be easily cured with simple treatments. Children with a severe visual or hearing disability will undergo a 4-6 month rehabilitation to enable life outside home and attending school. Awareness raising campaigns regarding eye- and ear health as well as rights of persons with disabilities (PwD) will be organised among local citizens during the camps. Advocacy on inclusive education and human rights of CwD will be promoted. Eye + ear care and rehabilitatio n centers will be established in Bara. The local project partner is B. P. Eye Foundation (BPEF) that has 3 decades of experience in rehabilitation of CwDs and training of ophtalmologists and optometrists. For improved access to treatment and rehabilitation and to increase awareness on human rights gender equality and inclusive education the project will strengthen the collaboration with other NGO's: IMPACT Nepal Nepal Association for the Welfare of the Blind Nepal Apanga Sewa sangh Bara and Loo Niva. A refe rral system will be developed with Patan CBR to reach a larger scale of PwD's. In Finland we will collaborate with Interpedia ry.

Reducing visual impairment due to uncorrected refractive error as a barrier to education for school-going children in Province 2 of Nepal
By the end of this project, by conducting school screening camps and systematic follow-up, we intend to have reduced visual impairment (particularly due to uncorrected refractive error) as a barrier to education for over 308,000 school-going children aged between 6-18 years in Siraha District and Parsa District in Nepal. Teachers, schoolchildren, parents and Community Health Volunteers will have increased knowledge of eye health. Hospital eye care teams will have increased knowledge and the capacity to sustain the methodology once the project ends.

Help Us Protect Wildlife outside PA in Nepal
Accepting Federal administrative system in 2015, administrative powers shared into Seven provinces in Nepal. Province No. 2 is having minimal natural resources among all provinces. Having 8 districts, out of 77 districts geographically, Parsa National Park (PNP), only one Protected Area (PA) of province is located in Western part and Koshi Tapu Wildlife Reserve (KTWR) falling in Province-1 is attached to Eastern part of this province. This attracts wildlife to travel from KTWR to PNP year round.
