Decentralized Rural Infrastructure and Livelihood Project (DRILP) Phase III
DRILP Phase 3 will support the Government of Nepal to accelerate recovery and reconstruction following the devastating earthquake of 25 April 2015 and the major aftershock of 12 May 2015. The project will provide the Technical Assistance (TA) to implement the Asian Development Bank (ADB) financed Earthquake Emergency Assistance Project in rebuilding 450 kms of damaged roads in 12 districts[1] of Nepal and rehabilitate 200 kms of trails in two[2] districts. [1] The 12 earthquake affected project districts are Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Kavre, Sindhuli, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Lamjung, Gorkha and Chitwan [2] Dolakha and Gorkha

Rural Health Development Project
Through its project planning and implementation approach RHDP has empowered community groups, especially women, and also influenced the village development committees (VDCs) to integrate community health demands in VDC planning, and thus contributed to local state building and better service delivery. After 17 years of cooperation, this will be the last phase of RHDP that will focus on consolidation and sustainability. As in the past, the project will aim at improving overall health status of people, especially of women, poor and disadvantaged groups in remote areas of Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga districts. Primary beneficiaries will be women, children, adolescents, and men, with special attention to Dalits and Janajatis.

Empower Tibetans to Build Sustainable Livelihoods
The project will reduce poverty and food shortages for vulnerable Tibetan refugee families - approximately 1,150 people - in the Solukhumbu District of Nepal. By creating food generation and livelihood opportunities through agricultural support and training, and providing skills building and vocational training to support Tibetans to either set up their own businesses or find gainful employment, the project will support the families to build self-sufficient sustainable livelihoods.

Provide food for 35 elderly people in Nepal
At Manakamana Bridhashram, an Old Age Home located in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha of Eastern Nepal, there are 35 helpless elderly individuals living. These individuals rely on a limited amount of charity donations from visitors to the nearby temple in order to fulfill their basic needs. To support them, the SESF has initiated an online fundraising project. This project aims to provide them with food supplies, as well as a monthly allowance for clothing, fruits, vegetables, and other necessities.

Location of project and Description of site Kathmandu (Nepal) Description of Company and Purpose of Project The objective of this project is to allow Bhote Koshi Power Company (the Company) to hedge its interest rate risk. The Company has requested that IFC establish a Risk Management Facility in order for it to enter into interest rate swaps on its FMO, Dresdner and Bayerische Vereinsbank loans under the IFC B loan. The interest rate swaps will effectively convert these loans from variable rate US Dollar (US$)to fixed rate US$. These interest rate swap transactions will be priced on the basis of standard IFC pricing guidelines for client risk management transactions. IFCs total exposure under these swap transactions is estimated at approximately US$3.0 million. This project will further support the developmental initiatives cited in IFCs investment in the Project. Interest rate risk management would improve the stability of the Companys future cashflows and enhance its economic viability. Environmental Category and Issues The proposed transaction is of financial nature only, and accordingly is classified as a Category C Project according to IFCs environmental review guidelines and procedures. Roadside Spring Protection to Improve Water Security
MetaMeta Research, FutureWater and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development will collaborate in order to address the declining and irregular flow of water springs in Nepal’s mountainous Dhankuta municipality. The project aims to protect and enhance natural springs while ensuring reliable water supplies and maintaining road infrastructure quality by reimagining roads as tools for landscape improvement. The Department of Local Infrastructure will oversee the projects implementation.
