Inclusive energy access for accelerating economic growth in Karnali corridor (TA SASEC/ETDSP)
The TA will pilot the Build4Skills approach at selected project sites to facilitate job placement for local people. It will build on the prior experiences of UNDP, ADB, and Norwegian-funded projects to enhance the livelihoods of women and disadvantaged groups in Jumla, Dailekh, and Kalikot districts. It will also support institutionalizing gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and implementing the gender action plan linked to the loan.

Educate 20 Girls and Boys in Need in Rural Nepal
This project will support our hostel facility at our partner school, Modern Model Residential School in Kalikot district, one of the most remote districts in Western Nepal to provide education, housing and boarding to 20 girls and boys who are orphans or in extreme need of support. Our school and the hostel facility provide quality education and a homely environment for the orphans and children in need from remote villages in a rural village setting in western Nepal.

Outdoor Learning Space for Children in Rural Nepal
This project will support our two schools & a hostel facility in two remote villages in Kalikot district in Western Nepal to buy new land & to manage the existing lands to be used as outdoor playing, learning & farming spaces for 248 students at the schools & for 30 orphans & children in need of support at the hostel facility. Consequently, the children will continue their education, enjoy outdoor learning, & feel safer & comfortable at school during these difficult times of COVID-19.

Improving Reproductive health and Gender equality in Nepal and Vietnam
This project seeks to improve access and the quality of reproductive health services for adolescent girls and women of reproductive age in the Kalikot district of Nepal and the Son La province of Vietnam. The project aims to improve health and gender equality (GE) among adolescent girls and women and reduce incidences of child marriages, a form of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). The project takes an integrated and holistic approach to empower local adolescent girls and women to exercise their reproductive rights and ensure access to health and reproductive services when needed. Project activities include: (1) conduct participatory-action research (PAR) to enable the identification of community-driven solutions; (2) engaging with local community leaders and health system stakeholders to build the capacity of local health workers, administrators, teachers, young people, and other relevant community actors; (3) promoting the quality of reproductive health services and their use by girls and women, especially for marginalized populations; (4) tackling cultural norms that enable SGBV, including child marriages; (5) consult with beneficiaries in the communities to understand their specific need and respond with appropriate curriculum and training on planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating gender-responsive health services; and (6) developing appropriate curriculum and train teachers & student facilitators to advance the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of the current reproductive health education programs within the communities. The project expects to reach approximately 1,600 adolescent boys and girls (800 in school and 800 from the community) and directly influence 2,500 women and 2,500 men, members of 60 community groups in Vietnam. In Nepal, the project expects to reach approximately 4,500 adolescents women, 2,000 adolescents man adolescents, 30 local health workers, 45 women community health volunteers, 45 community committees, and 25 religious leaders. This project works in partnership with International Nepal Fellowship (INF) in Nepal and the Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) in Vietnam.

F.a: Climate Resilient Villages
Project areas of Kalikot and Jajarkot districts in Nepal face several climate and livelihood challenges, made even worse by the Covid-19 that led the return of more than 50,000 migrant workers from India with no alternative income sources. These are contributing to already low agriculture productivity particularly among worse hit poor and vulnerable families such as women-headed households, Dalit and persons with disabilities. The aim of this project is to improve women-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and climate-resilient livelihood of these vulnerable and marginalized communities. Results of project activities: i) increased capacity in planning, management and implementation of women-friendly climate resilient and disaster risk reduction plans, ii) increased food production, nutrition and income through climate resilient, ecological agriculture and green market enterprises, and iii) improved capacity in implementing climate resilient and disaster risk reduction plans and programmes. The project beneficiaries are socially disadvantaged and marginalized farming families, particularly Dalits families, women, adolescent girls and persons with disabilities. Project activities also benefit CBNOs, farmer cooperatives, farmers? groups, SAMVAD centers, Eco Clubs, child right clubs, students, teachers and duty bearer bodies such as Palika offices, including Mayors and other elected members. The project is implemented by Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal (https://www.sahasnepal.org.np/).

Building Resilient Communities in Himalayan Regions of Karnali and Humla Provinces To reinforce adaptive capacity of vulnerable communities and to strengthen civil society organizations to combat the impact of climate and environmental criseis in Humla, Kalikot and Dailekh districts , Karnali Province. (Link with SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts). Women, adolescent girls, Dalits, PWDs, youth, farmers, and CSOs and local duty bearers will be the key target groups of the engagement.
