Sustainable Use of Technology for Public Sector Accountability
This initiative seeks to close existing gaps between demand from non-governmental organizations, communities and citizens for services, and supply by governments of services through the use of integrated technologies. This project focuses on women and marginalized groups to increase their access to and skills in using technology and supports them in developing the leadership capacities necessary to use integrated technologies effectively to voice their concerns collectively and to influence decision-making within government structures at the local and national levels. Project activities include: (1) capacity building through training, coaching and technical support; (2) developing and/or adapting specific technological mechanisms and tools (for example mobile applications); (3) establishing infrastructure technology facilities, namely techno hubs, at the national, district and local levels to facilitate information sharing; and (4) implementing an awareness campaign on the importance of civic engagement and participatory monitoring of public service delivery.
