F.a: Building up capacity through mobilising peace cadres to support single women with their equal acces to social justice

The project supports WHR's work towards the SDG of ‘’achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, as well as promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies.” Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary fo undation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable society. Providing women with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societ ies and humanity at large. By offering awareness and practical knowledge about the existing law and legal aid provisions to single women, as well as enhancing their ability to communicate with service providers to claim their rights, the project will lead towards greater economic, political and social empowerment for single women. Furthermore, the existing women’s network will be strengthened by raising the women’s capacity through educating, promoting and mobilising peace cadres” to act as focal pers ons for single women to seek information and advice, as well support them to unite and organise themselves to play an active role within peacebuilding and social justice and to become change agents and role models in their communities, by confidently colla borating with local stakeholders and the government to access their rights. http://whr.org.np/
