The Project concerns the promotion of solar energy in rural and semi-urban regions of Nepal. The purpose of the Project is to improve the supply of solar electricity and reduce CO2 emissions through investments in three ground-mounted PV plants with a total generation capacity of at least 8 MWp. The Project Executing Agency is the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The estimated total Project cost is approximately 11.3 million Euro, which will be financed through a grant contribution of 6 million Euro and NEA equity funds.
