Sustainable Development Investment Portfolio

The Sustainable Development Investment Portfolio aims to promote water, food and energy security in South Asia through improved management of shared water resources; renewable energy cooperation; sustainable, climate resilient agricultural practices; and strengthened national capacity. Programs supported by this funding include: International Centre for Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) capacity building in developing countries using its interdisciplinary capability in Water Resources Management, Education and Training and International Development; the Bangladesh Climate Change Resilience Fund; South Asia Sustainable Energy Fund; climate-resilient farming systems and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) Koshi Basin Programme. The total value of this initiative is around $50 million over 4 years, starting 2012-13.
