Improving Federalization of WASH Sector Governance in Nepal.

The component focus on strengthening federalization by enhancing the capacity of WASH sector ministries at federal and provincial levels to develop key policies, guidelines and instruments, establish robust planning and monitoring mechanisms, and effectively support local governments. At the municipal level, the initiative builds the ability of municipalities to plan, implement and monitor WASH programmes aligned with disaster risk management and SDG 6, supported by the establishment of municipal WASH units, adoption of essential policy frameworks, and localization and operationalization of the national WASH MIS system to ensure updated and reliable sector data.
