Developing the coffee supply chain in Nepal

There is great unemployment in Nepal. At the moment, therefore, many Nepalese (especially men) are leaving abroad and this has a huge impact on families. The main objective of Simultaan and its subsidiary Charge Nepal is to create employment for the Nepalese people and thus bring their living and working conditions to one acceptable level. She does this by growing, producing and selling coffee. Nepal is very suitable for growing coffee and the coffee from Nepal is acknowledged as a specialty coffee and highly appreciated. Now 22 farmers in the district Lamjung (Dudhpokhari) are involved and this number will be expanded. It is our aim to raise the number of farmers to several hundred in the coming years. The produced coffee has to be sold (of course) and is done in the Netherlands with the brand name 80days. Through TA we are able to accelerate our work and the sales of Nepalese coffee and achieve our expected number of sold quantities and we can make an impact on the Nepalese farmers and their families.
