Funding under this investment supports the deployment of up to three Australian Civilian Corps infrastructure specialists to Nepal to support earthquake recovery efforts, and the provision of logistics. The deployees will work within the Nepal Department of Education, providing advisory and capacity building support focused on the reconstruction of school buildings, to ensure that infrastructure design enables children to return to safe, accessible and resilient schools. The total value of this investment is $0.7 million over 2 years, starting May 2015.
