Reducing disabilities through a support to the Hospital and Rehabilitation centre for Disabled Children (HRDC)
An estimate 5% of the population of Nepal is affected with physical disabilities and their livelihood is affected far beyond the physical handicap itself. They suffer from exclusion and social stigma, which in turn reduces their ability to be socially and economically integrated. The HRDC is since over 25 years the leading institution providing services to disabled children and will be able to treat some 15000 children per year with the equipment and mobile teams facilities made available through this programme.
