Strengthening the social and economic situation of women and children and promoting sustainable agriculture in four districts of Nepal
Family-run farms and, in particular, female smallholders often cannot progress beyond subsistence farming in Nepal because productivity is low and access to land and natural resources is poor. The effects of climate change are damaging crops and jeopardising food security. 2,182 women and people from ethnic minorities are receiving support by strengthening the cooperatives run by women in terms of their services, advice and management, and are helping to improve the social and economic well-being of those affected and establish sustainable agriculture in the project region.
