Child Survival and Nutrition Initiative II
The Child Survival and Nutrition Phase II initiative aims to contribute in reducing child mortality and enhance the nutritional status of children in Nepal, specifically support to the: National Vitamin A Program (NVAP); and Community Based Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (CBIMCI). The NVAP focuses predominantly on children aged 6 to 9 months through provision of complementary micronutrient products. The CBIMCI covers all 75 districts and provides interventions such as community based treatment of pneumonia and management of diarrhoea. The total value of this initiative is $0.8 million to be expensed over the 2009-10 financial year.
