Water Resilience Tracker
The Water Resilience Tracker is an initiative under the Just Transitions for Water Security (JTWS) Programme. JTWS accelerates action towards climate resilient, environmentally sustainable, and socially inclusive management of water resources to achieve water security for all. The JTWS programme addresses the critical need for integration of water across multiple agendas, and in doing so will strengthen policy, investment, and accountability to catalyse improved water governance and climate resilience. The Water Resilience Tracker for National Climate Planning provides technical assistance to governments to enable the design and implementation of inclusive, climate-resilient policies and plans which better recognise the pivotal role of water in the climate response. It examines existing institutional structures and policies, identifies gaps, and provides strategic support to unlock cooperation, leadership, and access to climate finance. This initiative contributes to the priorities set out in the UK Government’s 2023 International Development White Paper - to deliver economic transformation, reform of international systems, harness innovation and mobilise finance to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, water-related disasters and food insecurity as well as ensuring safe water, sanitation and hygiene, and opportunities for all.
