RISE - Programme: Rights, Inclusion, Strengthening, Empowerment

The vision of the programme is promoting that blind and partially sighted persons (BPS) exercise their rights on an equal footing with all other citizens in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and national legislations. The programme focuses on three main objectives to achieve the desired change: 1) That all 8 partner organisations and their local branches operate in a legitimate, democratic and inclusive way, to promote and protect the rights of their members and all BPS persons in their countries, 2) That BPS persons actively participate in their national organisations and local branches and as economic, social and political agents in their own lives, and 3) That all 8 partner organisations are key players in shaping and advocating for political and societal frameworks, from the national to local levels, that enable BPS persons to fully exercise and enjoy their social, economic and political rights.
