UNFPA -Comprehensive Sexuality Education Program - Phase 2
UNFPA Nepal with the funding support from the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) initiated a project on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) since 2016 in five districts, namely Bajhang, Baitadi, Rukum, Sindhuli and Udayapur in Nepal. The project aims to ensure young people (in/out of school) have adequate information and knowledge on various dimensions of gender equality and sexual and reproductive health to empower and enable them to make informed decisions about their lives.Building on the successes and lessons learnt over the years, both from UNFPA’s CSE programs and the Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response (GBVPR) Programme – the new phase of the programme aims to tackle the root causes of gender based violence. It will do so by expanding CSE for increased awareness amongst relevant population to challenge the social norms and strengthening a multi-sectoral approach by leveraging role of the Education sector in the GBV prevention land
