Improving sexual and reproductive health and rights and biodiversity conservation through integrated approach in Nepal

This project focuses on improving sexual and reproductive health and rights and biodiversity conservation in Nepal. This project forms a part of a larger population health and environment (PHE) project which is implemented jointly by Väestöliitto Family Planning Association of Nepal FPAN WWF Finland and WWF Nepal and continues previous cooperation (2011-2014) between these partners. A model of integrated approach is applied in the implementation of the project. The project will be implemented during 2015- 2017 in eight districts of Nepal?s Terai region. People in these districts have low access to quality sexual and reproductive information and services which leads to unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Widespread poverty and populatio n growth in Terai region also cause unsustainable use of natural resources. Aim of the project is empowerement increase of information capacity and well-being as well as improved livelihood of young people and natural resource management communities. This project also aims at strengthening partneships. Project will implement trainings strengthen youth networks and resource centers improve the quality and amount of sexual health services and offer vocational training combined with micro credits. Partnerships and networks will be strengthened to disseminate information about integrated approach.
