Combating Environmental Crime

This PIO grant to INTERPOL funds the Combating Environmental Crime grant. The grant builds on the previous Project PREDATOR (tiger and snow leopard conservation) to include a wider range of environmental crimes addressed by Interpol's Environmental Security Sub-Directorate. In addition to PREDATOR, support is anticipated for Project SCALE (illegal fishing), Project WISDOM (elephant ivory and rhino horn), and Project LEAF (illegal timber). The broadened scope recognizes that many of the same criminal syndicates involved in tiger and snow leopard trafficking are also engaged in transcontinental trafficking in ivory, rhino horn, timber, etc.
