F.a: Promoting Equality and Accountability for Change and Empowerment

Nepal is in a post-conflict period of transformation, recovery and reconstruction, following the decade long armed conflict that ended in 2006. The project aims to enhance realisation of people’s right to peace by empowering right-holders and demanding d uty-bearers to link the most vulnerable to the national processes of peace building. The role of the project is to enhance women’s and youth’s decision-making capacities with regard to conflict prevention, resolution and peacebuilding, and to improve t he realisation and protection of human rights and security of women and girls and factors that directly influence them. Emphasis will be given to concretely address the root causes of conflict through FCA’s Right to Livelihood and Education related inter ventions and fostering inclusion and participation. The overall goal of the project is to achieve sustainable peace and just society. The specific objective of the project is to contribute to promote equitable, proportional and meaningful participation of women and youth at all levels of decision-making of conflict transformation and peace building process.Activities: • Develop National Actions Plan (NAP) training manual and train on NAP on UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820 • Evidence based advocacy • NAP implementation monitoring • Women empowerment • Advocacy and networking• Skill training and employment• Support conflict affected children in school • Higher / vocational education support • Strengthening CBOs and their netwo rks • Capacity development for peace and development • Social mobilisation and Community mediationRights-holders /beneficiaries: Conflict-affected women and girls and youthsImplementing partner: World Vision Advocacy Forum (WVAF)
