WFP efforts in relation to the earthquake in Nepal, 2015

WFP estimates that 1,4 mio. Nepalese are food insecure following the earthquake - of which 750.000 are located in rural areas close to the epicentre. To meet these needs WFP appeals for USD 116,5 mio. over the coming three months. Further more, as lead agency for the logistics cluster the WFP asks for additionally USD 34 mio. to the administration of an emergency aid centre in Tribbhuvan airport, to the reansport of relief aid to the deserted areas of Nepal as well a the creation of communication systems for humanitarian actors.
