Australia Awards target 67 countries in Asia, Pacific, Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America attracting high-achieving individuals from both public and private sectors. Funding under this initiative provides support for administrative costs of the Australian Awards Board which was created in November 2009 and establishment of the Australian Awards Secretariat. The Australia Awards Board advises the Australian Government on the Australia Awards Program, supporting the board is the role of the Australia Awards Secretariat. The total value of this initiative is $2.0 million dollars expensed during the 2009-10 financial year.
