Safeguarding Living Heritage for the sustainable development of communities in Nepal

The activity aims to protect the Living Heritage in Nepal by strengthening national capacities and providing policy guidance. In collaboration with UNESCO Category II Centres like ICHCAP and CRIHAP, as well as other sectors, the activity will support national capacity-building for safeguarding and promoting Living Heritage to empower communities. These efforts will focus on the role of ICH and its safeguarding in the context of climate change and integrate the safeguarding of living heritage into broader sectoral strategies for achieving sustainable development. Additionally, technical assistance will be provided to support Nepal's participation in regional periodic reporting. Nepal is among 42 countries in Asia and the Pacific undertaking its first regional cycle of reporting under the revised 2018 Overall Results Framework, 21 of which, including Nepal are submitting their reports for the first time.
