F.a: Equality and Non-Discrimination for Sustainable Peace (ENDS)

Dalits continue to be among the poorest, under educated and under-represented at the political level. The project will raise awareness on unlawful and inhuman practices of caste-based discrimination and untouchability among both Dalit and non-Dalit populat ion as well as prepare them to speak up against these practices; educate and sensitise government authorities on the anti-discrimination legal provisions and measures. The project will mobilise human rights defenders for supporting victims and empower them to seek justice through formal process, and educate and empower women and youths to engage in peacebuilding process in their community. This will contribute for the protection and promotion of fundamental human rights and freedom of Dalit, women and other marginalised groups in Nepal.Expected results:• Enhanced voices and roles of Dalit and civil society organisations in encouraging government to implement non-discriminatory policies and equality frameworks contributing to peace• Enhanced participation and role of marginalised women and youths in peace building in the community with their increased access and linkage to educational and livelihood opportunities• Increased engagement of religious, social and political leaders in peacebuilding and social harmony dealing with injustice and discriminationRights-holders /beneficiaries: Dalit women and youth Implementing partner: Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO)
