PRG-Nepal Peace, Rights and Governance Programme
The Peace Rights and Governance programme (PRGP) is designed to support initiatives by state and non-state actors, the sole aim of which is to foster social cohesion and thereby help Nepal to ensure political stability and peace in the medium term. The promotion of conflict transformation is a central objective of all programme components, sub-components and projects at all levels and across all aspects of the PRGP. The program has a total budget of DKK 200 mio. for a period of 5 years from 2014-2018. The program comprises of 3 components: I) Peace building and democratic development II) Local Governance and III) Access to Justice and human rights. Component I will be implemented by the Nepal Peace Trust Fund (NPTF), Election Commission and the multi donor Governance Facility (GF). Component II will be implemented by Ministry of Federal Affairs and local development. Component III will be implemented by National Human Rights Commission, the Governance Facility and other partners. Different interventions designed under the PRGP will contribute to peace-building, improve the effectiveness of the state and increase partnerships with civil society.
