The Asian Development Bank Regional Energy initiative will fund renewable energy and energy efficiency activities in South Asia that seek to reduce green-house gas emissions and mitigate climate change. It will have a strong focus on providing modern energy services to poor households in both rural villages and urban communities. The activities will also promote a green/renewable path to development. The total value of this initiative is $2.0 million to be expensed during the 2011-12 financial year.
