Strengthening a Climate Smart, Green, and Resilient Education System in Nepal
Rising global temperatures lead to more frequent climate-related disasters in vulnerable countries like Nepal, despite low emission rates, increasing "learning poverty" up to 90%. In response, this project titled "Strengthening a Climate Smart, Green and Resilient Education System in Nepal" will strengthen the curriculum to include climate change, train teachers in pedagogical methods and promote eco-friendly practices in 'green' model schools. UNESCO and UNICEF will collaborate on a three-year project in Nepal, with UNESCO as the lead partner and UNICEF as the co-partner. The project will be funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Nepal.
