Aims: To prevent forest fragmentation and degradation in Terai area in Nepal; to enhance forest rehabilitation and increase wildlife in forest corridors; to enhance local livelihood and reduce vulnerability of marginalized communities; to empower local community forest user groups_ buffer zone forest user groups and community-based anti-poaching groups; to increase knowledge and awareness of the effects of climate change. Activities: Studies_ inventories and monitoring of forest resources and socio-economic changes; training and awareness raising of local community-based organizations about the sustainable use of forest resources_ income generating activities_ micro-credits etc; training of community-based anti-poaching groups; capacity building of CBOs; preparation of forest and grassland management plans for CBOs.
