Nepal – expansion of goat farm for the production of cashmere wool.

With a DGGF Start-up Loan, SoGoodToWear Coöperatie UA (SGTW) will be able to responsibly expand a goat farm for the production and sale of cashmere wool. This investment provides employment and income to some 1,500 families, to be realized within 10 years.SGTW is a social enterprise with a not-for-the-profit objective, and eand fashion brand of fine cashmere clothing such as sweaters, cardigans and scarves. . SGTW wants to make the entire chain fairtrade, from goat to store, from cashmere to fashionable clothing. They will be applying the principles of fair trade and pursuing an eco- and animal-friendly polic. With this plan, SGTW brings a lot of employment and economic perspective with small-scale goat farming and processing of cashmere. SGTW has received a DGGF Technical Assistance subsidy in the past for the start-up of the breeding program in Nepal.
