Civil Society Organisations as promoters of improved food systems and equal livelihood opportunities (CSO)
Direct target groups: A total of 5000 households (32411 individuals / 51% female: 16528 women/girls) will be directly involved in food and nutrition security interventions. Based on the low socio-economic status, 4500 small holder farming households (land size < 2 ha, income from labour/remittances, food shortage and 500 landless households (low income from labour/remittances, livelihood insecurity, food shortage) will be selected. There will be focussed activities for nutrition vulnerable people such as children, women, pregnant women, lactating women, adolescent girls from these 5000 households. Indirect target groups are all those groups or individuals the project collaborates with under each output sector for example the community change agents, the agro veterinarians or youth and adolescent clubs. The total population (155707 individuals) living in the three neighboring rural municipalities of Mayadevi, Yeshodhara and Suddhodhan will benefit from the strengthened civil society and improved food and nutrition governance as well as networking and alliance building of right holders.
